This 100% pure salmon oil comes from salmon of the clean, pure waters of Iceland. Salmon oil is a natural source for Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids, which are important nutrients not only for the skin and coat but for overall health. Our holistic veterinarian, Dr. Sanderlin, feeds Salmon Oil to his dogs and cats every day, and recommends it to all of his patients.

Essential fatty acids are vital for the development and preservation of many body functions:

During the bottling process in Iceland our salmon oil goes through a detoxification process that removes virtually all toxins and heavy metals - to the point where they are below detectable levels so that the oil can be called "toxin-free". The lab in Iceland uses a proprietary natural process to achieve these results and, subject to regulations of the European Good Manufacturing Practice and Pharmaceutical Production Commission and ISO 9002 (a European standards code), samples of its oils are tested frequently for toxicity levels by licensed third-party testing companies.

Feeding Instructions for daily use
For Dogs:
1-5 kg 1/2 teaspoon = 1 1/2 pumps
5-15 kg 1 tsp = 3 pumps
15-25 kg 2 tsp = 6 pumps
25-40 kg 3 tsp = 9 pumps
Over 40 kg 4 tsp = 12 pumps

For Cats:
1-10 kg 1/2 tsp = 1 1/2 pumps
Over 10 kg 1 tsp = 3 pumps

Usually administered by mixing with your pet's food. Store at room temperature away from direct light. Okay to keep refrigerated. Human grade quality, but for animal use only, not for human consumption.

This salmon oil is tested regularly for purity by licensed 3rd party testing companies, and it has been certified to contain no detectable levels of toxins or heavy metals.

Preservation
Some other suppliers of salmon oil state that theirs does not have any preservatives. This is not an advantage. Time and oxygen will make even the best salmon oil rancid. The critical Omega-3 fatty acids in salmon oil are destroyed by oxidation, and rancid salmon oil contains compounds that produce free radical activity and cause oxidative damage in the cells of the body as well.
